Cindy Acree, HD 40 (Aurora)

State Rep. Cindy Acree is a small business owner and mother of three.   She has lived in the district over 20 years and comes from a rural background. Rep. Acree serves as the Vice-Chair for both the Health & Environment and Legislative Audit Committee.  She also sits on the Finance Committee. She serves on the Behavioral Health Transformation Council and Oversight of Mental Health in the Prison subcommittee.  She was recently appointed to serve on the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Human Services and Welfare Commission.

Rep. Acree is the former chairman of the board of the largest neuroscience center in the Rocky Mountain region and a board member at Spalding Hospital.  Rep. Acree has held numerous government appointments including: President of the Aurora City Budget Committee; Director, Cherry Creek School District Facility Planning Committee and an appointment by Governor Bill Owens to the Cardiovascular Health Coalition.  Rep. Acree has over 20 years of legal and business experience with degrees from Southern Methodist University and the University of Denver – College of Law where she formerly was an instructor.
