Glenn Vaad, HD 48 (Mead)

Glenn VaadWeld County is fortunate to have State Rep. Glenn Vaad as their advocate in the General Assembly.  Vaad Represents House District 48 and chairs the House Transportation Committee, and is a member of the Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources; House Services Committee and the House Appropriations Committee.

Vaad has an extensive career in helping the people of Colorado.  Prior to serving in the statehouse, Vaad served as a Weld County Commissioner for eight years, and spent thirty-one years with the Colorado Department of Transportation. Within this capacity, Vaad worked as a highway engineer, a management consultant, an auditor, a legislative liaison at the legislature, and the Secretary of State Transportation Commission. A good deal of the responsibility of a County Commissioner is that of stewardship of county roads.

Vaad has also served with a volunteer fire department as both a firefighter and EMT. He was a member of the Mead Colorado Town Board and a board member of the St. Vrain Valley School District. He has also been actively involved in the leadership of his church for over 25 years.

Vaad lives in Mead with sweetheart of 53 years, Mollie. The Vaad’s have two children and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.
