Marsha Looper, HD 19 (Calhan)

Marsha LooperMarsha excels in everything she does! After traveling around the country for ROLM Telecommunications Company and IBM she successfully completed thousands of hours of advanced telecommunication and systems engineering classes. Due to her dedication, hard work and loyalty to her customers and employer she received numerous certifications as an IBM Systems Engineer and a Novell Systems Engineer. She was honored as “Systems Engineer of the Year” several times by her peers at their annual symposiums. Following many career successes, Marsha started her own company, Computing Solutions Group, in 1993.

Becoming interested in real estate in 2004, she earned her Associate Broker and Registered Appraiser credentials. She was a partner in Big Sky Realty, and owned and operated Phoenix & Associates, a small home building and remodeling company.

Marsha is the former Executive Director of a statewide coalition formed to fight the Front Range Toll Road. The Front Range Toll Road aka Super Slab was a private toll road company that planned on condemning private property in seven counties, from Weld to Pueblo to build a private toll road. She worked with coalition members from the other 6 counties and after 5 years of fighting they were successful in stopping one of the biggest land grabs in the United States. She helped form, Colorado Citizens for Property Rights, and Eastern Plains Citizens Coalition, which was formed to protect private property and water rights.

In addition to being active in her children’s school, sports and other activities, Marsha has volunteered with her church, St Michaels, Special Olympics, coached YMCA basketball, 4H leader, livestock judging coach, and served on the Falcon School District Accountability Committee. Marsha currently is a member of the NRA, and Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition.

As well as working the family’s ranch in Calhan, the Loopers were co-owners of Waterworks Sales, a national water and sewer pipe distribution company which was purchased by a national corporation, Hughes Supply, Inc. then purchased by HDWaterworks Sales. Lynn remains there as branch manager, but finds time to be active with the Pikes Peak Range Riders and to work on their “Pikes Peak Pivots” committee, which promotes our acclaimed Peaks Peak or Bust Rodeo throughout the country, and is also a member of the El Paso County Soil and Water Conservation Society.

Her commitment and passion to serve the citizens of HD19 is reflected in her numerous bills. She is honored to represent a district which is home to Schriever Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base and sections of Fort Carson Army Post. She is committed to work on legislation that improves the life of our service members, their families and all citizens in HD19 and the state.

Marsha currently sits on the House Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee and the House Transportation and Energy Committee.
